We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Ranch Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a private 122-acre ranch located in Sagle, Idaho. The Ranch Manager will be responsible for the overall care, maintenance, and operation of the ranch, including livestock and horse management, grounds maintenance, trail systems, infrastructure upkeep, equipment management, and property improvement projects. This individual will serve as the primary caretaker of the ranch and will take pride in maintaining the property to the highest standards across its 122 acres.
The ranch is home to horses, goats, miniature cattle, extensive trail systems, and a variety of ongoing property improvement projects, providing a diverse and rewarding environment for someone who enjoys working outdoors and taking ownership of a dynamic ranch operation.

Key ResponsibilitiesRanch Operations & Property Oversight
- Manage the daily operations of the ranch and prioritize ongoing projects.
- Conduct routine inspections of the property, facilities, and infrastructure.
- Ensure the ranch remains safe, organized, clean, and professionally maintained.
- Coordinate seasonal maintenance and improvement projects.
- Maintain inventories of supplies, feed, tools, equipment, and materials.
- Serve as the primary caretaker and steward of the ranch property.
Livestock & Animal Management
- Oversee the daily care and well-being of livestock, including goats and miniature cattle.
- Feed, water, and monitor animals for health and safety concerns.
- Coordinate veterinary visits and routine health programs.
- Assist with animal handling, movement, vaccinations, weaning, and herd management.
- Maintain clean barns, shelters, pens, and feeding areas.
- Ensure fencing and enclosures remain secure and functional.
Horse Care
- Oversee feeding, watering, grooming, and general care of horses.
- Monitor horse health and coordinate veterinary and farrier services as needed.
- Maintain stalls, paddocks, arenas, and horse facilities.
- Assist with horse handling and daily barn operations.
Pasture & Property Management
- Maintain lawns, landscaping, open spaces, and common areas.
- Monitor and maintain pastures and grazing areas.
- Control weeds, brush, and overgrowth.
- Manage irrigation systems and seasonal property needs.
- Ensure the property presents a clean, attractive, and well-maintained appearance year-round.
Trail Management
- Maintain ranch trails, roads, and access routes.
- Remove fallen trees, brush, and debris.
- Address erosion, drainage, and trail safety concerns.
- Coordinate trail improvement and maintenance projects.
Infrastructure & Maintenance
- Oversee maintenance of barns, garages, sheds, corrals, fencing, gates, water systems, and ranch buildings.
- Perform and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Manage painting, carpentry, concrete, fencing, and general construction projects.
- Monitor utilities, pumps, wells, water systems, and ranch infrastructure.
- Identify preventative maintenance opportunities and implement solutions.
Equipment & Vehicle Management
- Operate tractors, skid steers, UTVs, ATVs, trailers, mowers, and other ranch equipment.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and inspections.
- Coordinate equipment repairs and service when necessary.
- Maintain organized and functional equipment storage areas.
Hay, Feed & Water Systems
- Oversee feed and hay inventory management.
- Coordinate livestock feeding schedules and storage systems.
- Inspect and maintain livestock waterers, troughs, pumps, hydrants, and water lines.
- Assist with seasonal winterization and water system maintenance.
Security & Stewardship
- Monitor the property for security concerns, trespassing, and safety hazards.
- Ensure gates, access points, and facilities remain secure.
- Respond appropriately to weather events, emergencies, and urgent maintenance issues.
- Act as a trusted on-site representative of the ranch ownership.
Qualifications
- Previous experience managing a ranch, farm, estate, equestrian property, or similar operation preferred.
- Strong knowledge of livestock management, horse care, equipment operation, and property maintenance.
- Experience with fencing, irrigation systems, construction, and general repairs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding outdoor work in all seasons.
- Comfortable operating tractors, skid steers, utility vehicles, trailers, mowers, and other ranch equipment.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
