Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Ranch Laborer with strong horse‑handling experience to join our equine rehabilitation team. This role combines daily ranch maintenance with hands‑on support for our equine aqua therapy program. The ideal candidate is confident around horses, comfortable with physical labor, and able to assist with basic mechanical and water‑system tasks.
Duties
- Provide attentive animal husbandry, including feeding, watering, grooming, and health monitoring of horses
- Operate heavy machinery and farm equipment safely, including tractors, loaders to support maintenance tasks
- Horse Handling — Safely lead, handle, and prepare horses for aqua therapy sessions; clean hooves, wash horses, and assist with spa preparation.
- Ranch Maintenance — Perform daily upkeep including mowing, weed‑eating, fence checks, stall cleaning, and general property care.
- Aqua Therapy Support — Assist with pool operation, including monitoring water levels, helping with filtration system upkeep, and supporting minor repairs.
- Facility Repairs — Help troubleshoot and repair plumbing, water lines, and mechanical components related to the therapy pool and ranch infrastructure.
Skills
- Equine Experience****: Comfortable working around horses of all temperaments; experience in training, leading, or grooming is a plus.
- Mechanical Aptitude:** Familiarity with plumbing, water systems, pumps, or filtration equipment.
- Equipment Skills:** Ability to safely operate tractors, skid steers, and other ranch machinery.
- Physical Capability:** Able to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors in varying weather, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong animal handling skills with knowledge of animal husbandry practices and equine experience preferred
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to repair and maintain farm machinery and agricultural equipment
- Ability to perform manual tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards
- Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment for repairs and routine upkeep
- Outdoor work experience demonstrating resilience in varying weather conditions
