Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Farm Manager to lead daily operations on a cattle farm. In this role, you will oversee the management of livestock, hay production, equipment maintenance, and overall farm safety. Your leadership will ensure the farm runs efficiently, sustainably, and profitably while maintaining high standards of animal care and hay production. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily farm activities including cow/calf operation and equipment operation.
- Oversee the care and handling of livestock, ensuring their health and well-being through proper animal practices.
- Maintain and repair farm machinery, tools, and equipment using welding, basic repairs, and preventive maintenance techniques.
- Operate heavy machinery such as tractors, hay equipment and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Keep detailed records livestock health, maintenance activities, and inventory management.
- Implement sustainable farming practices to enhance productivity.
Skills
- Proven experience in a farm or agricultural setting.
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and repairing farm machinery and equipment.
- Extensive animal husbandry skills including animal care, handling, and health management.
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as tractors and hay equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely along with manual tasks using hand tools.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to hay production and livestock management.
- Experience with welding or equipment repair is a plus; strong maintenance skills are essential.
