Ranch Hand

Position Overview

We are looking for a dependable, hardworking, and trustworthy Ranch Hand to help with the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the ranch. This position requires someone who is comfortable working outdoors, operating equipment, working around exotics, and taking initiative to get jobs done without needing constant supervision.

The right person should be reliable, trustworthy, mechanically inclined, safety-minded, and willing to handle a variety of tasks. Ranch work changes from day to day, so flexibility and a willingness to help wherever needed are important.

Primary Responsibilities

Ranch & Property Maintenance

• Weekly weed-eating around buildings, fences, roads, gates, and other areas as needed
• Trim and remove trees/brush along ranch roads and access areas
• Pick up trash, fallen limbs, and other debris along roads and throughout the property
• Maintain roads, trails, gates, and fence lines
• Spray roads, fence lines, and problem areas when necessary
• Monitor and report damaged fences, gates, water lines, equipment, or other ranch issues
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized ranch

Exotics & Water

• Fill and maintain water troughs
• Check water levels and report leaks or other water issues
• Help fill, move, and maintain feeders
• Assist with general exotic-related chores as needed
• Help monitor feeders, troughs, fences, and exotic areas

Equipment & Shop

• Clean and maintain Can-Am/UTV vehicles
• Perform basic cleaning and routine maintenance on ranch equipment
• Keep the shop clean, organized, and free of unnecessary clutter
• Properly put tools, equipment, and supplies back in their designated places
• Help load, unload, move, and organize ranch supplies and equipment
• Report equipment problems or maintenance needs

General Ranch Duties

• Assist with projects and improvements around the ranch
• Help with seasonal ranch work and special projects
• Operate tractors, UTVs, weed eaters, sprayers, chainsaws, and other equipment when qualified
• Assist with fence repairs and general property maintenance
• Help wherever needed to keep the ranch operating efficiently
• Perform other ranch duties as assigned

Ideal Candidate

• Dependable and punctual
• Hardworking and willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Able to work independently and take direction when needed
• Comfortable performing physical labor
• Responsible around exotics, vehicles, tools, and equipment
• Takes pride in keeping equipment and property clean and organized
• Mechanically inclined is a plus
• Previous ranch, farm, landscaping, hunting-property, or heavy outdoor work experience is preferred but not required
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be willing to learn and take on different responsibilities

Must pass background check and drug testing screening

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
