Ranch Hand

Job Description

Golden Hollow Farms is a small family ranch in Northern Colorado focused on raising meat products for local sale at the Farmers Market and from the farm. Current products include cattle, pigs, goats, sheep, and ducks.

We are currently seeking an intern to work on the ranch for the remainder of the 2026 season. The ranch is located about five miles southwest of Berthoud. The intern will be responsible for daily feeding and watering of all the animals along with general animal care. Because of the non-traditional methods used on the ranch the amount of daily labor is high. Feed is moved and distributed with a pitch fork and shovel. The candidate must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and manage heavy wheelbarrow loads for a 3-4 hr duration feeding each day. The ideal candidate will also be able to complete fence installation and repair, or be willing to learn. Other duties include cleanup, loading and unloading ranch materials, and moving animals. Previous experience with animals is a bonus but not required. Pay will be based on the candidates ability to manage job responsibilities and to follow instructions. Candidates must live within 30 minutes of the Berthoud area. Housing is possible for the ideal candidate.

Interested candidates should reply explaining their employment history, experience working outside, experience working with animals, and why they are interested in the job. When complete emails are received a phone screening will take place in order to setup interviews at the ranch.
Before hiring references are required, and a background check will be completed.
