Job Description
**SUMMER JOB**
Seeking an individual to help with a seedstock cowherd and bull development program. This individual is expected to: work with people in a disciplined, loyal, focused, and careful manner; accomplish a task in a dependable, methodical, and thorough manner; make decisions intuitively or based on past experience and information at hand.
Assist with cow herd, including:
- Feeding – Routine feeding of grain, forages, and supplements
- Herd Health – Perform routine herd health procedures including vaccinations, deworming, fly control, tagging, and tattooing. Diagnose and treat routine health problems such as pink eye, foot rot, scours, respiratory problems, minor injuries, and lameness.
- Assist with the conservation of native pasture – with managed rotational grazing system, grassland, and fence maintenance
- Assist with other farm-related activities, especially during the fall harvest
Qualification Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Cattle management skills
- Experience operating small and large machinery
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour
