Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Location: Burton, TX

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary:The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of all facilities, guest accommodations, and grounds across the ranch resort. This role ensures that all systems, equipment, and property areas operate safely, efficiently, and at the highest standard to support an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in hospitality or resort maintenance and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Facility Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform general maintenance across buildings, guest accommodations, and common areas, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work
  • Diagnose and repair issues in guest rooms, restrooms, kitchens, laundry areas, and recreational spaces
  • Ensure all facilities are clean, safe, and fully operational
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintain detailed maintenance logs

Grounds & Exterior Care

  • Assist with upkeep of landscaping, irrigation systems, pathways, lighting, and outdoor areas
  • Support pest control and waste management efforts
  • Maintain exterior structures including decks, patios, pools, spas, fences, and ranch equipment areas

Preventative Maintenance

  • Implement and follow a proactive maintenance schedule for all systems and equipment
  • Identify and address potential issues before they impact operations or guest satisfaction
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and equipment lifecycle

Hospitality Support

  • Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests with professionalism and courtesy
  • Collaborate with housekeeping, events, and guest services teams to ensure seamless operations
  • Assist with setup and maintenance for events, weddings, and on-site activities

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, OSHA standards, and resort policies
  • Maintain fire safety systems, water treatment systems, and emergency equipment
  • Participate in safety training and maintain a clean, organized work environment

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in maintenance or facilities management, preferably in a resort or hospitality setting
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and perform hands-on repairs indoors and outdoors
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and on-call availability

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience with pool/spa systems, water treatment, or septic systems
  • Familiarity with ranch or farm operations
  • Trade certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) or technical training
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Professional, reliable, and guest-focused demeanor

Work Environment:This role is based onsite at a ranch resort and involves both indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions. The position requires physical labor, use of tools and equipment, and frequent movement across the property to support daily operations and guest needs.

  • Schedule may include weekends, evenings, and emergency on-call support
