About the Role
The Barn/Equine Facilities Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and productive operation of Deer Springs Equestrian Center. This hands-on manager will be responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling all barn staff to meet the needs of the facility. The incumbent will evaluate current processes and develop a plan to improve operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversight of the upkeep of riding arenas, stalls, courses, pastures, and trails.
- Oversight of equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies.
- Implement programs to ensure the safety is a top priority for all.
- Recruitment, training, management, and evaluation of staff.
- Scheduling of staff to meet day-to-day needs of over 115 horses, property and event needs.
- Development of standard work processes that ensure productivity and efficiency.
- Implementation of standards to reinforce a reputation as a premiere facility in the greater San Diego market.
- Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with staff, vendors, clients, visitors, and the local equestrian community.
- Social Media as well as other marketing campaigns.
- Sales and keeping the property at a high occupancy level.
- Review and recommend boarding and service rates.
- Drive revenue by adding programs. Control expenses
- Enjoy working with those that have special needs. The center promotes work opportunities for those with special needs.
Required skills and experience:
- Leadership skills including integrity, responsibility, accountability, organization, and influencer
- Experience managing a barn or stable with 10+ horses
- At least 1 years of experience managing or supervising a team
- Ability to develop, implement and execute processes and standards
- Flexibility to work hours/days that support business goals and needs of clientele
- Coverage of store management when store manager is not on sight

Deer Springs Equestrian Center is a premier equestrian ranch in San Marcos California a suburb of San Diego. DSE has been in operation for over 15 years and boasts multiple arenas, turnouts and one of the largest covered arenas in the area. Also of note is the on-site feed and supply store.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
