Job Description

JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a hardworking Agricultural Fencing Worker to join our team. The Agricultural Fencing Worker is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining fencing systems on farms, ranches, and rural properties. This role supports livestock containment, crop protection, and property boundary management. The position requires physical labor, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Measure and lay out fence lines according to property plans or instructions.
  • Dig post holes using manual tools or power equipment.
  • Set and secure fence posts (wood, steel, or concrete).
  • Install fencing materials such as barbed wire, woven wire, electric fencing, or rails.
  • Stretch, align, and fasten wire or panels to ensure durability and proper tension.
  • Repair damaged fencing, replace broken posts, and perform routine maintenance.
  • Install gates and ensure proper operation.
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely.
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in fencing, construction, or farm work is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read measurements and follow instructions.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Outdoor Work: Constant labor in agricultural or rural settings.
  • Weather Exposure: Daily exposure to varying conditions, including extreme heat, direct sun, wind, and rain.
  • Terrain & Stamina: Ability to move across rough, uneven, or muddy terrain; includes prolonged standing, bending, and digging.
  • Lifting: Ability to routinely lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively in loud or outdoor environments.
  • Schedule: Work may involve long hours during peak seasons and varied shifts based on farm needs.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
